It is true that the challenges and opportunities travel brings, help us discover our identity. Having grown up in the beautiful country of Zimbabwe on a small village, life was extremely amazing and adventurous. When I was 16 it is then I was reintroduced to the new me with a broadened global outlook. With a small bag and not knowing where my next meal would be, I found myself in the beautiful city of Cape Town where I finished my studies and immediately I fell in love with the travel industry and started working as a tourist guide. Few years later I journey across Asia and Europe and met beautiful souls that welcomed me as their own.
With the struggles that Africa has gone through I soon realized that Africa has solutions to its struggles and the desire to provide more enjoyable experiences for travelers through more meaningful connections with local people, and a greater understanding of local cultural, social and environmental issues that the communities face grew bigger until the birth of Cape Prosperous Tours.
I enjoy coming home to my wife’s cooked meals. On my days off, I usually like to spend time with family and friends outdoors. I enjoy a good game of football, boxing and hiking.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Alexander Hopking” tab_id=”1556916688549-85883094-ba09″][vc_column_text][hr]

I’m a born and bred Capetonian who at a very young age while traveling began to notice that the places and people that I visited on my travels were different to me and my family. I noticed that everyone’s perceptions influenced their actions and this ignited a passion inside of me to try learn, understand and grow through others.
Since finishing my studies, I have solo backpacked through Europe, travelled with friends to South America and visited a number of places in Asia. I also worked as a volunteer english teacher, boxing and soccer coach to kids in the rural parts of Mozambique for a year. For five years I was part of a team which created programmes for universities traveling to Southern Africa before taking the big step of resigning and co-founding Cape Prosperous Tours, i have not looked back since. Having the opportunity to show travellers our beautiful continent and cultures while at the same time learning about their cultures and individual stories while being able to actively help the communities around us grow and flourish through tourism is priceless.
When not sitting and trying to figure out how I can help change the world I love watching and competing in boxing, playing soccer, hiking and “surfing”. I love animals and have a beautiful Jack Russel named Pluto who has been by my side for 14 years! I want to learn to speak Greek, teach myself to cook and hopefully one day tell people I surf without needing to say “surf”![/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][/vc_tta_accordion][/vc_column][/vc_row][/vc_section]
